The whistle is useful to get balls where you want them quickly for example to stabilise a structure by changing the weight distribution, or to get balls to the exit quickly. They'll move faster and tend to head towards the sound. Hold down the mouse button to whistle and nearby Goo Balls will be attracted to it. Once you've completed Leap Hole in Chapter 2, you gain the use of a whistle. Once you have completed the minimum level requirements, all time bugs will vanish, which can be annoying if you're trying for OCD. Be careful how you use them though, for you won't always get a new time bug when you make a move. ![]() They are little white flying bugs that you can can click on to "undo" one move. You first encounter time bugs in Impale Sticky. When you meet the OCD requirements of a level, a little flag will appear on the map screen besides that level. They involve rescuing additional balls, or completing in a limited number of moves or amount of time. Press ESCAPE to see the game menu, and click "ocd" to see what the additional requirements are to obtain OCD. Mysterious Levels - Each level is strange and dangerously beautiful, introducing new puzzles, areas, and the creatures that live in them. Drag and drop living, squirming, talking, globs of goo to build structures, bridges, cannonballs, zeppelins, and giant tongues. Obsessive Completion Distinctionįor those in need of further challenge, every level has an "OCD" mode. This is the FULL award winning game, now on Android. Almost every level has signposts (which are animated so you can see them easily). In such levels you are given clues as to where you have to build or what you have to do. If you can't see the pipe, a small arrow will on the screen will be pointing toward it. You must build towards the level's pipe so that it can suck the remaning balls. Most levels require you to rescue Goo Balls to complete them. There are dozens of types of ball in the game, but you are introduced to each gently. Still more balls can be shot in a direction but not dragged. Others cannot be attached but can build towers. ![]() Special types of Goo Ball exist that only have one arm ( water for example), or that are lighter than air (like balloons). You normally need to build in generally triangular structures as most Goo Balls require at last two arms to grab on to other balls. In most levels, you can simply drag and drop the balls to link them into a structure. Summing up, World of Goo is an extremely creative, beautifully designed construction game that all puzzle fans will love, for sure - even if this demo only lets you play the first chapter of the game.In World of Goo, you control Goo Balls which you can link together in various ways to form structures. It was nominated for the Seumas McNally grand prize, Design Innovation. World of Goo is a video game for the Wii, Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, iOS, Nintendo Switch, and Linux by 2D Boy, an independent game developer founded by Kyle Gabler and Ron Carmel, both former Electronic Arts employees. Also, you'll have to take weight and oscillation very much into account if you don't want your structure to tear down to pieces before reaching the exit. For the location the game takes place in, see World of Goo (planet). Goo balls are represented as extremely malleable, sticky blobs and behave exactly like that. The game's physics are something completely different. It's all designed with simple, rounded lines, bright colors and smooth animations. Graphically speaking, World of Goo looks like one of those easy yet addictive Flash colorful games you play online. The exit to each level is represented as a pipe, and sometimes you get hints about how to approach the puzzle. Your aim consists on rescuing the Goo balls scattered all over the screen on each level by building all sorts of structures with them (ladders, bridges, poles, etc.) that let you overcome different obstacles such as hills, spikes or cliffs, not to mention gravity itself. World of Goo reminds me in a way of Lemmings: it's full of a bunch of cute small creatures and requires construction skills.
